An Urgent Humanitarian Appeal – Standing with Farming Families in Yagba West and Yagba East, Kogi State

Terre Vivante Internationale Inc. is calling on global partners, compassionate donors, institutions, and individuals who care about human dignity, food security, and community wellbeing to support an urgent humanitarian response for more than 2,000 households in the rural communities of Yagba West and Yagba East in Kogi State.
Families who have lived off their fertile lands for generations cannot work on their farms because insecurity and violent attacks make the fields unsafe. Children are going hungry while their parents worry about their sick and elderly relatives. Livelihoods that have sustained families for decades are collapsing, and access to basic medical care is becoming impossible as people live in fear rather than focus on life.
This is not just a Yagba Community Problem. It is a real and pressing human crisis.
Recent Events Confirm the Urgency
In the past few weeks, attacks in these communities have escalated dramatically. In the Ejiba community, Yagba West, armed bandits attacked a church service, abducting a pastor, his wife, and several worshippers. Residents in Jege, Yagba East, were forced into fear and temporary displacement after violent incidents in December 2025. Whole communities such as Okunran in Yagba West have reportedly abandoned homes and farms because of ongoing insecurity. On major roads through Yagba East, travellers were ambushed and kidnapped, disrupting movement, trade, and access to essential services.
These events confirm that families are already fleeing, farms are being left untended, and food production is declining. The consequences go beyond local hunger. Markets are slowing, incomes are falling, and fear is disrupting daily life. The longer this continues, the more households will struggle to survive and rebuild.
Farming Matters to Everyone
Farming is more than a job. It is the foundation of food, the source of wealth, and the heart of community life in every nation. When farming communities are attacked and forced away from their land, it affects all of us. Food prices rise, markets slow down, and regional food security is threatened. Protecting these communities is not just charity. It is protecting the foundation of society and working towards a better future.
Proven Leadership at a Time of Need
At times like this, leadership rooted in experience and compassion matters. Ambassador Adewale Osho, President and CEO of Terre Vivante Internationale Inc., has devoted his life to connecting people and resources in the service of stronger and healthier communities. His solid work in agribusiness, sustainable development, and community impact is grounded in years of real-world experience. As a leader with experience, he understands that helping farming families recover is not charity. It is protecting the future of the nation.
Under his guidance, Terre Vivante has responded to urgent needs before, delivering food to families in distress, providing medical care to underserved communities, and helping people rebuild hope when circumstances seemed hopeless. Today, this same commitment and leadership are focused on Yagba West and Yagba East.
