Ashraf Al Eid: Redefining Human Capital Leadership

Ashraf Al Eid

Driving organizational strength through people-centric innovation!

When industries across the Gulf faced a growing disconnect between traditional HR models and the evolving expectations of a modern workforce, organizations were forced to rethink how they attract, develop, and retain talent. At Al Muhaidib Group, a diversified conglomerate with deep roots in Saudi Arabia’s economic landscape, the challenge was clear: build a workforce ready for the future while honouring a legacy built over decades.

Ashraf Al Eid stepped into this moment of transformation with clarity and conviction. As Vice President Human Resources, he recognized that the solution was not just about introducing new tools or policies, it was about shifting the mindset across the organization. With a career shaped by leadership roles in companies like Majid Al Futtaim and Najm Insurance, Ashraf brought with him a vision grounded in both experience and adaptability.

At Al Muhaidib Group, he introduced systems that empowered leaders and employees alike, revamping performance management, embedding learning and development at every level, and aligning HR practices with business goals. Under his leadership, human capital was no longer seen as a support function, but as a strategic pillar.

What sets Ashraf apart is his ability to balance strategy with empathy. He believes in building workplaces where people feel valued, seen, and inspired to grow. Through his leadership, Al Muhaidib Group has not only tackled its workforce challenges but has turned them into a competitive strength, setting a benchmark for how human capital can drive long-term business success.

Building Stronger Organizations

Ashraf Al Eid is an accomplished Human Resources leader and consultant with more than 30 years of experience in People and Organization Development. He has worked across a wide range of industries and cultural settings, both in local and multinational environments.

Currently, he serves as the Founder and Principal Consultant of his own consultancy firm, launched in September 2024 after his retirement from corporate life. Through this firm, he helps organizations drive strategic HR transformation, leadership development, and cultural change by drawing from his deep experience in building sustainable success.

Before starting his consultancy, he was the Vice President Human Resources at Al Muhaidib Group, one of Saudi Arabia’s leading diversified conglomerates. In this role, he led HR strategy, talent management, and organizational culture transformation. Under his leadership, the company was recognized as a Great Place to Work® in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and Asia.

His earlier career includes senior HR roles across sectors such as construction, manufacturing, food and retail, financial services, and investment. His expertise spans organizational development, talent acquisition, succession planning, leadership coaching, performance management, and employee engagement. His focus has always been on aligning people strategies with business goals and helping leaders create agile and high-performing cultures.

Ashraf has also spoken at multiple HR and leadership conferences, sharing insights on topics like the future of work and digital transformation. He actively mentors upcoming HR professionals, believing in the impact of knowledge sharing and community growth. His mission remains clear: to help organizations unlock the full potential of their people.

Turning Experience Into Impact

Following a fulfilling corporate journey, Ashraf founded his independent Human Resources and People & Organization Development consultancy in September 2024. The firm was born from a simple but powerful belief: people are the true differentiator in any organization. With the right leadership, strategy, and culture, businesses can achieve lasting performance and growth.

After leading HR across sectors for more than three decades, Ashraf recognized recurring challenges faced by organizations, cultural misalignment, talent retention issues, leadership gaps, and the pressure to adapt quickly. These experiences shaped his decision to build a consultancy that offers hands-on support and tailored guidance to help clients overcome such hurdles.

Since its inception, the firm has focused on strategic HR advisory, leadership development, culture transformation, and capability building. Ashraf works with a wide range of clients, from large conglomerates to smaller firms, delivering customized solutions rooted in each organization’s unique context and goals.

His approach has helped businesses achieve key milestones, including Great Place to Work® recognition and the development of future-ready leaders. Over time, the consultancy has embraced evolving trends such as digital HR, hybrid work, and agile organizational structures to help clients stay ahead in a competitive landscape.

At its core, the purpose of the firm has remained unchanged: to help organizations unlock the full potential of their people and build workplaces where both individuals and businesses can thrive.

Leading with Integrity, Curiosity, and a People-First Mindset

Ashraf’s leadership is grounded in a clear set of values that have consistently shaped his approach throughout his career. At the core is integrity, doing the right thing, even when no one is watching, and authenticity, staying true to his beliefs while leading with transparency and purpose.

His people-centric mindset drives every decision he makes. He believes that when leaders put people first, performance follows. This approach fosters trust, encourages open dialogue, and creates environments where individuals feel valued and heard.

A strong advocate of continuous learning, Ashraf remains curious and open to new ideas. He sees every challenge as an opportunity to grow and believes that learning never stops, especially in a world where business and work are constantly evolving.

He also places great importance on empowerment and trust. By enabling others to take ownership and make decisions, he helps them grow into confident, capable leaders. For him, leadership is not about control, it’s about guidance and belief in others’ potential.

Finally, collaboration is a cornerstone of how he operates. He views leadership not as a solo act, but as a partnership. By working closely with others, whether colleagues, clients, or teams, he builds lasting relationships that are based on shared goals and mutual respect. These principles continue to guide his work, both as a leader and a trusted advisor to organizations.

Creating Conditions Where People and Organizations Can Grow

Ashraf sees leadership as a responsibility to build an environment where people and organizations can truly thrive. His approach to growth starts with clarity, he believes that when individuals understand the larger purpose behind their work, it naturally strengthens commitment and motivation. He ensures goals are aligned and meaningful, helping each person see how they contribute to the overall vision.

His method includes:

Vision and Clarity

He begins with a clear and compelling vision that gives people a sense of purpose. When individuals understand how their work connects to something bigger, they feel more motivated and committed. Aligned goals ensure everyone knows the value of their contribution.

Investing in People’s Development

Talent development has always been a priority for him. Whether through coaching, mentoring, training, or hands-on experience, he helps people grow by encouraging them to take on new challenges with the right level of support.

Creating a Safe and Inclusive Culture

He builds a culture where people feel safe to speak up, challenge existing ideas, and learn from mistakes. Open dialogue and diverse perspectives are welcomed, and every individual is made to feel heard and respected.

Empowerment and Trust

Rather than controlling outcomes, he chooses to empower. He delegates with purpose, trusts others to deliver, and supports them when needed. This balance strengthens confidence and fuels innovation.
Celebrating Success and Learning from Failure

He recognizes wins of all sizes and encourages teams to see failures as learning experiences. He fosters a mindset where every challenge becomes a steppingstone to improvement.

Leading by Example

His leadership is rooted in consistency. By modeling values such as integrity, adaptability, and resilience, he inspires those around him to uphold the same standards.

Staying Future-Focused

He continuously tracks emerging trends and changing business needs. By preparing teams for what lies ahead, he helps them stay agile and competitive.

Through this approach, Ashraf helps individuals discover strengths they never knew they had and supports organizations in building lasting, people-driven success.

Navigating Complexity with Clarity, Compassion, and Commitment

Over a 30-year leadership journey, Ashraf has faced a wide range of challenges that have shaped his perspective and refined his approach. Each turning point has reinforced his belief in people-centric leadership and the power of values-driven action.

Driving Cultural Transformation
Leading cultural change in large, diverse organizations has been one of the most demanding challenges. Shifting mindsets, reducing resistance, and aligning teams around new values required clear communication, visible leadership, and celebrating early wins to build lasting momentum.

Balancing People and Business Priorities
At times of restructuring or financial pressure, Ashraf had to make difficult decisions. Balancing the demands of the business with the well-being of people called for empathy and integrity. Even in tough moments, he ensured actions were guided by transparency and dignity.

Leading Through Uncertainty
Whether during industry disruption, economic downturns, or the global pandemic, leading through uncertainty tested his resilience. By staying calm, communicating clearly, and helping people focus on what was within their control, he maintained stability and focus during unstable times.

Gaining Buy-In for Strategic HR Initiatives
Earlier in his career, strategic HR was often misunderstood. Ashraf addressed this by linking HR initiatives to business outcomes, speaking the language of executives, and building trust with leadership teams. This shifted perceptions and elevated HR’s strategic role.

Managing Diverse Teams Across Cultures
Having led teams in both local and multinational contexts, he learned that cultural awareness and respect are essential. By listening deeply, embracing diverse perspectives, and building genuine relationships, he created inclusive environments where teams could thrive.

Each of these experiences reinforced his belief that leadership is measured not by position, but by how one responds to challenge. For Ashraf, staying grounded in values, learning continuously, and helping others rise in the face of adversity remain at the heart of his leadership.

Driving Impact Through Culture, Strategy, and Practical Innovation

Throughout his career, from corporate leadership roles to his current consultancy, Ashraf has consistently focused on innovations and strategies that create lasting business value while elevating the people experience.

Transforming Organizational Culture to Earn Great Place to Work® Recognition
At Al Muhaidib Group, he led a multi-year cultural transformation that prioritized trust, engagement, and purpose. Through leadership development, better communication, and recognition programs, the company achieved Great Place to Work® certifications across Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and Asia. This not only strengthened the company’s internal culture but also elevated its reputation as an employer of choice.

Aligning HR Strategy with Business Objectives

He repositioned HR from a support function to a strategic business partner. Through data-driven workforce planning, succession pipelines, and talent reviews, HR became a growth enabler and a contributor to competitive advantage.

Leadership Development and Succession Planning

He designed leadership programs tailored to every level of the organization, focusing on emotional intelligence, agility, and strategic thinking. This helped reduce reliance on external hiring and built a stronger leadership bench from within.

Digital Transformation of HR
Ashraf introduced cloud-based platforms, self-service tools, and data analytics to modernize HR operations. These changes improved process efficiency, empowered employees, and gave leaders better insights to guide decisions.

Building Employer Brand and Reputation
He always believed that how an organization treats its people speaks volumes. From global workplace recognition to participation in industry forums and social initiatives, he helped shape an employer brand that attracted talent and earned respect.

Customized Solutions in Consultancy Practice
Since founding his consultancy in 2024, he has focused on practical, tailored solutions rather than one-size-fits-all models. Whether guiding cultural change or redesigning organizations for agility, his hands-on approach has helped clients see measurable improvements in performance and engagement.
For Ashraf, innovation is not about complexity, it’s about clarity, relevance, and impact. Every initiative is designed to create value for both the business and its people.

Balancing Profit and Purpose for Sustainable Growth

Ashraf believes that profitability and positive societal impact go hand in hand. Throughout his leadership journey and now as a consultant, he has maintained the view that long-term success is achieved not just by serving shareholders, but by creating value for employees, customers, and the wider community.

He helps organizations embed purpose into their strategies, going beyond profit to include sustainability, ethical practices, and community development. When a company’s direction is anchored in purpose, it shapes better decisions and fosters greater employee engagement and customer loyalty. People-centric leadership remains central to his approach. By creating cultures where employees feel valued and empowered, he has seen how motivation and innovation naturally follow, driving both performance and societal impact.

During his time at Al Muhaidib Group, he championed responsible business practices that emphasized fairness, diversity, and employee well-being. These efforts not only enhanced the employee experience but also contributed to the company’s recognition as a Great Place to Work®, reinforcing its reputation as a responsible employer.

Ashraf also advocates for measuring success holistically. Financial results matter, but so do indicators like employee engagement, environmental sustainability, and social contributions. He encourages the use of balanced scorecards and sustainability reporting to stay accountable to both economic and social goals.

In his view, shared value is where profit and impact truly converge, whether through investing in communities, developing skills, or creating sustainable offerings. He leads by example and uses his voice to influence a broader shift in how businesses define success.

For Ashraf, profitability and purpose are not separate paths, they strengthen each other. Organizations that align both are more resilient, attract better talent, earn deeper trust, and are positioned for lasting growth.

Empowering Leadership Is About Enabling Others to Rise

Ashraf believes that a truly empowering leader is not defined by authority or title, but by their ability to help others achieve more than they imagined possible. For him, empowerment begins with trust, giving people the space to take ownership of their work without micromanagement, while offering clear direction and support when needed. This trust builds confidence and accelerates growth.

He also emphasizes the importance of clarity. When individuals understand the broader vision and how their work contributes to it, they feel a stronger sense of purpose. Ashraf sees empowering leaders as those who align their teams around shared goals and keep everyone connected to something meaningful.
Another hallmark of empowering leadership, in his view, is investing in the development of others.

Coaching, mentoring, and providing opportunities to stretch beyond current capabilities are not optional, they are essential. Ashraf makes it a point to recognize and nurture the unique strengths of each individual, helping them grow through real experience.

He is equally committed to creating psychologically safe spaces. Empowering leaders, he believes, ensure people feel heard and respected. They encourage open dialogue, allow space for challenge, and never punish honest mistakes. This openness drives creativity and unlocks potential.
Recognition also plays a vital role. Ashraf consistently celebrates both small wins and significant milestones, knowing that encouragement builds engagement. Feedback is offered not to diminish, but to inspire.

Listening deeply and embracing diverse perspectives is another key element. For Ashraf, inclusivity is more than a value, it’s a daily practice. Every voice matters, and true empowerment means making space for all.

Finally, he leads by example. Whether it is integrity, resilience, or humility, Ashraf believes leaders must model the same values they expect from others. Empowerment, in his leadership philosophy, is about enabling the success of those around you. It is about building others up, watching them thrive, and knowing that the greatest legacy a leader can leave is a generation of confident, capable individuals ready to lead with purpose.

Building Future-Ready Organizations

Ashraf envisions his consultancy as a trusted partner in enabling meaningful transformation, helping organizations build workplaces where people and business grow together. His goal is not just to provide HR solutions, but to empower companies to unlock their full human potential and move forward with clarity and confidence.

He plans to expand the impact of his work across diverse sectors, including manufacturing, services, investment, and emerging industries. By addressing challenges such as leadership development, cultural change, talent retention, and organizational agility, he aims to support companies in becoming more resilient and future-ready.

Ashraf is also focused on establishing his firm as a source of practical insight and thought leadership in the field of People and Organization Development. Through industry forums, articles, speaking engagements, and discussions on topics such as AI in HR, hybrid work, and workforce evolution, he intends to share relevant knowledge and contribute meaningfully to the broader HR community.

His approach will remain tailored and client-centric. He believes deeply that sustainable change only happens when solutions are rooted in the unique culture, strategy, and goals of each organization. This commitment to customization ensures that every engagement delivers value and creates lasting impact.
Technology and analytics will play an even greater role in his future strategy. From advanced HR analytics to digital learning tools, he plans to help clients make informed, data-driven decisions and accelerate their transformation journeys.

A key part of his vision is also about building internal capability. Rather than creating dependency, he aims to leave clients stronger, equipping leaders and HR teams to sustain progress independently. This focus on knowledge transfer reflects his long-term view of transformation.

To enhance the scope and depth of his work, Ashraf also plans to expand collaborations with consultants, technology providers, and subject-matter experts. These partnerships will help deliver well-rounded, strategic solutions that address both human and business needs.

At the heart of his vision lies one belief: investing in people leads to sustainable success. By staying committed to his values, integrity, excellence, partnership, and continuous learning, Ashraf continues to guide organizations toward cultures where people feel valued, leadership is future-ready, and performance follows naturally.

Leading Through Service and Shared Growth

Empowering leadership is ultimately about service. For me, leadership has never been about titles or authority. It’s about helping others discover their strengths, overcome their challenges, and achieve things they didn’t think possible. Whether I’m working with an executive team, mentoring emerging leaders, or guiding an organization through transformation, my goal is always the same: to leave people and places better than I found them.

I also believe that as leaders, we have a responsibility not only to deliver results, but to create workplaces where people feel valued, included, and inspired. When people thrive, organizations thrive, and that’s how we build both business success and a positive impact on society.

Finally, I’d like to share that despite over 30 years in this field, I still approach each day with humility and curiosity. I am always learning, from clients, colleagues, and even challenges. That mindset, I believe, is essential for anyone who wants to be an empowering leader in a rapidly changing world.
Empowerment is not a destination, it’s a continuous journey of growth, trust, and shared success.
