Coca-Cola India Honors Women Farmers with Artistic Tribute on Mahila Kisan Diwas

Coca-Cola India celebrated Mahila Kisan Diwas by paying tribute to the invaluable contributions of women farmers across the country. Recognizing their resilience and dedication, the company collaborated with renowned illustrator P.S. Rathour to showcase their inspiring stories through art.

The tribute featured visual art installations and storytelling campaigns, focusing on the journeys of five remarkable women farmers from different Indian states—Regina and Rani from Delhi and Karnataka, Suvarna from Karnataka, Preethi from Tamil Nadu, and Basanti from West Bengal. These women have demonstrated extraordinary leadership in agriculture, overcoming challenges to create sustainable livelihoods.

For instance, Rani transformed barren land in Kodagu into a thriving coffee plantation, securing a steady income and earning a position as a board director at the Madikeri Highlands Farmers Producers Company. Similarly, in Kolhapur, Suvarna’s adoption of vermicomposting improved soil fertility and boosted sugarcane and vegetable production, ensuring her family’s financial stability.

Speaking about the initiative, P.S. Rathour expressed, “This was not just an artistic activity, but an opportunity to translate the courage and innovation these women signify. My work aims to reflect their strength and impact on sustainable farming.”

A Coca-Cola India representative added, “Women farmers form the backbone of our agricultural economy. Through this initiative, we honor their efforts and highlight their crucial role in ensuring food security.”

The event also witnessed participation from government officials, agricultural experts, and rural development organizations, further emphasizing the importance of gender-inclusive growth in farming.

Through this initiative, Coca-Cola India and its foundation, Anandana, continue to support women in agriculture by promoting Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), skill development, and entrepreneurship, reinforcing their commitment to a sustainable and inclusive future for all.
