Jugeshwor Singh Kshetrimayum: The Discipline That Forged a Leader

Jugeshwor Singh Kshetrimayum

On a Mission to Champion Martial Arts in India!

Opportunities were few, and challenges were many in the small town of Kakching, Manipur. For Jugeshwor Singh Kshetrimayum, born on 2nd February 1981, life was never handed on a silver platter. Raised in a modest yet disciplined home, his father, Mr. Kshetrimayum Ibomcha Singh, a man of strong principles, and his mother, Mrs. Kshetrimayum Ongbi Keinaton Devi, a devoted homemaker, Jugeshwor Singh Kshetrimayum learned early on the values of resilience and responsibility.

While most children followed the conventional path of academics and play, Jugeshwor Singh Kshetrimayum was drawn to something different, something deeper. Martial arts, with its blend of discipline, focus, and inner strength, called out to him. It wasn’t just about learning to fight; it was about mastering the self. Whether it was Taekwondo, Kung Fu, or Wushu, every move he learned, every fall he took, brought him closer to understanding his purpose.

Even when financial constraints and lack of resources stood in the way, he never gave up. Instead, he trained harder, pushed further, and kept his eyes fixed on a larger goal, not just to succeed as an athlete, but to represent his homeland with pride. That unrelenting determination shaped his identity.

Today, as the Chairman & Managing Director of the India Kuo Shu Federation (IKSF), Jugeshwor Singh Kshetrimayum is more than a martial artist, he is a symbol of passion, perseverance, and purpose. His journey is proof that greatness often begins in the quiet corners of discipline and belief.

The Vision

Jugeshwor Singh Kshetrimayum attributes the success of his organization to a clear and consistent philosophy, upliftment through discipline, opportunity, and purpose. As the driving force behind India’s leading transformational company in its niche, he has always believed that real change begins at the grassroots.

One of his most impactful contributions to society has been his commitment to nurturing underprivileged athletes. Growing up in Kakching, a small town in Manipur, he witnessed firsthand how financial hardship and the lack of proper training facilities held back talented young individuals. Determined to change this, he began offering free martial arts training in his early years and went on to create employment opportunities for skilled martial artists. His vision ensured that for many, martial arts was no longer a hobby or an unaffordable passion, it became a sustainable career. Without his intervention, many of these athletes would have been forced to give up their dreams. Through his efforts, martial arts in the region has transformed from a personal pursuit into a platform for growth, recognition, and livelihood.

Built a Transformational Martial Arts Movement

In 2000, while still in his teenage years, Jugeshwor Singh Kshetrimayum took a bold step by establishing the New Kung Fu Training School (NKTS) in his hometown. At a time when qualified martial arts trainers were scarce, his community recognised his natural talent and encouraged him to take on the role of an instructor. Without any formal resources or financial backing, he began coaching students entirely free of cost, driven by a deep desire to instil discipline and self-confidence in young people.

Starting with just 40 students, the initiative grew rapidly, reaching 100, then 200, and eventually training over 380 students. He charged only a nominal fee of Rs. 20 to cover travel and clothing expenses, while the core training remained free. This approach not only made martial arts accessible to underprivileged students but also laid the foundation for what would later become a transformational force in the sector.

Kicking Open Doors for Martial Artists

Jugeshwor Singh Kshetrimayum’s leadership approach is grounded in purpose and empowerment. Rather than simply directing, he believes in nurturing potential, both in individuals and in the teams he builds. This belief shaped one of his boldest initiatives in 2021: the founding of the Warrior Kung-Fu Academy in Bangalore, Karnataka.

Aware of the financial hurdles many martial artists face, Jugeshwor Singh Kshetrimayum envisioned more than just a training centre. He wanted to create a sustainable ecosystem that could support practitioners not just in perfecting their craft but in earning a livelihood. His academy welcomes athletes from across the globe, including the US and UAE, but it also focuses on local impact, employing over 15 trainers who are paid competitive salaries and continue to compete at the senior level.

Today, the Warrior Kung-Fu Academy trains over 450 students and stands as one of the largest martial arts institutions in the region, a testament to Jugeshwor Singh Kshetrimayum’s values-driven leadership and unrelenting commitment to uplifting the community through martial arts.

In 2012, he was awarded the Kung-Fu Black Belt 7th Duan (Degree) by the World Martial Arts Council, UK, and the Grandmaster Title by The World Kuo Shu Federation, USA. The same year, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Martial Arts Science from International San Diego University, California.
